Merry & Bright

As we approach the end of the year, I want to thank you all for your support and encouragement. Whether you've read every post (thanks, mom!) or this is your first time stopping by, thank you for reading.

Though Christmas is over, I still want to wish you a merry one! I always find that Christmas time really brings me back to my roots. It's easy to get lost in the business of life, to get caught up in the little things. If there is one thing I learned these past few months, it would be not to sweat the little things... or the big things. Many of the things we stress about we either don't have control over and if we do, we have the power to change, so why don't we?

Amidst this season deemed merry and bight, stress seems to find its way into our lives. Finding the right present for mom or figuring out traveling arrangements or time to squeeze in that visit to your long lost aunts house, the meaning of this bright time of year can be quickly lost.

Leading up to Christmas, I devoted time to a series on She Reads Truth, that put into perspective the many mini struggles I face. Christmastime is about celebrating hope that came down and rescued us from all these temporary problems. Jesus was born, the light of the world that makes this season, and every season bright, came to rescue us. This time of year marks the beginning of the most well know and sincere love story of all time. I hope that no matter what you're facing currently, that you'll be rooted in this truth. Jesus came for you and for me because He loves us.

So, here's to dwelling on the reason for the season. This next week, as we prepare to take on a new year, remember who holds you and your future. I hope not only that you had a lovely Christmas, but that 2016 is a merry and bright year for you!
